WebScoopsPortal pages are intended as a marketing tool for companies, charities
and other organizations.
Their effectiveness as a marketing tool is based on a simple idea:
| Give people something they find useful,
fun, or interesting and they will use it frequently - and see the organization's
advertisements or marketing material frequently as well. |
Forget the company calendar! Give people a tool - a set of pages - they
will want to use every day,
with a calendar, calculator, diary, reminder, memo, games and more, and:
- it doesn't stop being useful at the end of the year;
- you can encourage people to pass it on to others and to spread the word;
- you can keep your marketing material up to date, through integrated web
pages.
WebScoopsPortal produce a Marketing Tool Editor, which generates the
WebScoopsPortal Marketing Tool pages. Using the Editor, organizations can lay out and
generate pages containing:
- many accessories;
- many games, provided with the tool by TopAccolades;
- links to an on-line Web directory;
- links and other content of their own;
- marketing material.
Two areas of marketing material will be displayed on each WebScoopsPortal
Marketing Tool page: one at the top and one at the bottom. These should
normally be based on the
organization's own web site, and be maintained by them. Using the
WebScoopsPortal Marketing Tool Editor, the organization may edit the standard

that they can be used from personal computers - giving much faster response

WebScoopsPortal is a web-based portal that includes many accessories, games and
pages. You can download either just a set of pages, which offer you
browser-based customization/personalization, or, for much greater flexibility
and power, the WebScoopsPortal PE Editor,
which lets you design your own pages and helps you to manage your use of
the Web, your PC or your business network and to organize your personal or
business life (find out more about this here).
You can also, of course, simply
access the
pages over the Web from here.
Before you go to the
pages or download the pages or the Editor, please be sure that the most appropriate region is
selected below, otherwise you will not get the best content for you. The
portal content is aimed principally at two regions: USA/Canada and
Britain/Ireland - choose below. If you're from elsewhere, just choose the
nearest region - the games and accessories work anywhere.
But remember, you'll get much
better response times, even over broadband, if you use WebScoopsPortal locally, so download the complete package of
pages, accessories and Javascript
games and puzzles. And if you want the superb flexibility provided by
the Editor, you'll need to download it.

WebScoopsPortal pages provide
you with many high-quality browser-based accessories:
- a diary to store birthdays,
anniversaries and other important events, and reminders of these on the
pages in the 3 days before;
- a clock and 24-hour reminder
- set this to be reminded of events during the day;
- a memo - an electronic
equivalent of a yellow stickie;
- a calculator;
- a calendar;
- a measurement converter;
- My Links - set up your own
links on the pages;
- My Ports - display the web
sites you want to see in frames on the pages, e.g. display your company or
team home page on the front page.

links to the individual pages in the directory - about 250 pages covering a wide range of topics - and also to some of the
more commonly used pages, such as News, Search, Weather, TV, and Shopping, through icons on each page. These
pages, like the adverts you'll see, are aimed at two regions: USA/Canada and
Britain/Ireland. You'll be asked to select one of these as your default
when you first access a region-specific page.
